Over the weekend of 6 and 7 October, Gracie Barra Singapore sent a team of 18 (16 adults and 2 kids) to the Copa de Bangkok Jiu-Jitsu tournament in Thailand. The adult team bagged 5 gold, 3 silver, and 5 bronze medals, whereas the kids team brought home 1 gold and 1 bronze medal. We also took home second place for the overall team results – the only foreign team to snag one of the 2 coveted trophies!

It was the first BJJ tournament for many of the GBSG white belt competitors but they performed exceptionally well, and we hope the experience was an eye-opening one. We’re so proud that they accepted the challenge and put in the work, and believe there are lots of lessons that have been picked up along the way.

Thank you to all the our GSBG teammates back in Singapore who have pushed us to go further, to all our friends and family who flew up just to show their love and support, and to Professors Alisson, Bruno, and Kon for being there by our side!

A special shout out to everyone who helped snapped the pictures of the matches, and to Nick for editing them such that everyone looks super cool.

Back to the drawing board everybody! Oss!
