CloseMarch 2018 will be an intense month of tournaments. In one of our previous posts, we highlighted just a few tournaments such as the Carlson Gracie International Cup, Tokyo International Open IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and Master International IBJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Locally, we also have the Dumau Singapore 2018 tournie on the 11th of March to kick us off.
To help prepare us, there will be some changes to our training schedule once we return from the Chinese New Year break.
Starting 20th February, all the way until 20th March, all intermediate classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays evenings, and the All Levels classes on Saturdays will become training dedicated to BJJ competition training.
Who can attend?
Anyone who is already eligible to attend Gracie Barra Singapore Intermediate Classes can participate in these training sessions. We encourage everybody to come, regardless of whether or not you are competing, as every single one of you is part of the GBSG team, and it’s a team effort to do well at a tournament.
What to expect:
There isn’t a pretty picture to paint for you here – BJJ CompSquad training is going to be tough and not like your usual intermediate or sparring classes, so bring your heart, your warrior spirit, and your A game. We aren’t playing around here, and things will get ugly. Crying is allowed, but you’re not allowed to stop training, even as you ball your eyes out as you’re halfway through your twelfth million fireman carry, you must soldier on. But you will come out of this stronger, tougher, and closer to each other than ever before.
You get the idea.
So enjoy your CNY break, and see you champs on the mats for CompSquad training on the 20th! Oss!
*Post edit: Only intermediate classes in the evening on Tuesdays and Thursday.
